1) Tell us about yourself!

My name is Linda G.

I love music and reading.

2) What is your favorite hobby?

I have always loved music. I have taught myself to play the piano. It has been very difficult to learn. I am still working at it.

3) What got you interested in music?

Soooo, when my pastor needed a bass player in our church he asked me if I could do it. I told him I would do my best. I quickly ordered some lessons. I learned some root notes and started playing at church. My playing was very simple and very limited. I wanted more so I searched for bass lessons and came across the Music Academy of Acadiana. I started taking lessons.

4) What has been the biggest thing you've discovered since starting music lessons with us?

I have learned so much more than I would have on my own. I received an amazing teacher. He is very patient and is excited about teaching.

5) What is one of your life goals?

One of my life goals is to play the bass with confidence and be an asset to my church’s music program…

6) Anything else you would like to mention?

I am a 71 year old grandmother raising two teenagers and I would like to say if I can learn to play an instrument most anyone can. And if you really have a desire to learn, I know a great school that will help you— Music Academy of Acadiana.
